Grief Counseling

I can’t believe he’s gone.

Why did God have to take such a kind, decent human being?

Did I do enough? Did I do the right things? Sometimes I feel so guilty.

We had so many plans, so many dreams, and now life has become one big nightmare.

There is no universal formula for moving through grief. No GPS that takes everyone on the same route. Each person, each grief journey, will be different.

Grief work is hard work. And it’s so essential to do after a loved one has died. In my practice, I view my role as being a calm, steady, supportive companion, there to guide you through a time of immense turbulence and uncertainty.

Some of the challenges I help people with include:

  • Making meaning of the loss

  • Learning to live with grief

  • Coping with emotions – anger, guilt, regret and more

  • Pushing through complicated grief

  • Moving your own life forward

  • Identifying ways to honor a person’s legacy

  • Developing a new relationship with the deceased (to gently transition the relationship from a physical one to one of an emotional and spiritual nature that can live on forever)

The only way through grief is to take one step at a time. I invite you to take a first step by contacting me for a complimentary consultation.

“I will be forever grateful to Curtis for providing me with the safe space and time to understand and process my grief. His genuine interest, together with his warm and accepting style, fostered my healing while moving me forward into my new life.”
